From The Heart No. 49 - Monday, January 26, 2009
Greetings dear friends and family,
While visiting at an assisted living center last week, I noticed a group of birds who were eating at a feeder. They were feasting on the seed that someone had put out for them, someone who cares for them.
We, like the birds have someone who cares for us. Someone who not only gives us nourishment for our bodies, but also nourishes our souls.
Each time we kneel at the altar and feast on the Body and Blood of Christ we are nourished. There we are renewed by his forgiving love to live as children of God.
Unlike the bird feeder that can run empty, Jesus’ love never runs out. Bask in his love, be fed by his love and then reach out and share his love with those who need to be fed. Trusting that God can and will use you to help fed his children.
“Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.” John 6:57
Let us pray: Nurturing Father, you so lovingly care for our bodies, minds, and souls. Helps us to be feeders for you, caring for those who are in need of feeling your love. So often we try to put a limit on your love, remind us that your love is unending and that through the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we have been set free to live for you till that time when we will all be united in heaven with you. In your name we pray. Amen.
With love and prayers,
Diane
